Hill House Christian Centre was 40 last year
A celebration was held on 14th May 2016
This was truly a day of much celebration, glorious weather, fun and a time for many people to go down memory lane (for some many years and for others more recent). There was lots to see and do with picture galleries showing work carried out since the purchase in 1976 along with Summer & Family Camps. Tours of the House, which everyone always loves, especially those who hadn’t visited for several years, to see what changes have taken place.
The atmosphere on the front lawns was of a buzzing village fete, as people sat having their picnics as well as enjoying the Bouncy Castle, Giant lawn games, Ladder sand bag game, Hook a duck, Coconut Shy, Ping Pong Pringles, Water Pistol tin-can alley, Splat the Rat, Photo Booth, Kids drawing / colouring competition, Face painting and so much more. Those with the competitive spirit joined in a game of Crocker, penalty shoot out and tug-o-war. Others, left their lasting mark on one of the old summer camp tents, being used affectionately as a autograph book.
A scrumptious afternoon tea was too much to resist as people chatted and laughed as they caught up with old and not so old friends and shared their stories, of Hill House and how it has played a part in their lives.
The afternoon closed with a service of celebration, led by Rob Scott-Cook. Thanking God for all his goodness, love and faithfulness over the years and asking Him to continue to have his hand of blessing on the future.
We lifted our voices in echoes of Praise and Thanks to the Lord for His many, many, blessings which we have been witness to and are indeed new every morning.
